This series was born with the aim of creating a precise formal record, where photography documented the Ikebanas. While taking the photographs, my attention gradually shifted to the arrangement's placement within the visual rectangle and its dialogue with the surrounding space. I introduced the wooden base as a new element to accentuate the austerity of the composition. Unlike the previous stage, the selection of plant elements was not the result of chance or an attempt to extend the life of clippings. This time, it was a deliberate search. My journeys through streets, parks, the beach, and vacant lots transformed into a kind of pilgrimage, where my eye, mind, and spirit focused, fine-tuned, and quieted. I no longer observed just the plants themselves, but also their infinite ways of growing freely, adapting and unfolding according to environmental conditions: twisted and entangled forms, and unexpected alliances renewed my perspective. In the studio, with greater intentionality, the weeds were integrated in harmony with the ornamental plants. During one of the sessions, the outside light accidentally filtered in, creating shadows that added unexpected depth. I realized that my images lacked volume, an additional layer that could give more substance to the composition. This fortuitous occurrence offered me a new perspective, an extra element that enriched the process, and it was this discovery that paved the way for the next series: "Durmiente."
