Between 1999 and 2000, I worked with bitumen and inks on paper, techniques that allowed me to explore inner images that emerged from the stains. Deep feelings, drives, fantastic and real beings that resided within me took shape: music, dance, sex, love, monsters, fears, desires, connection, spirituality, the search for the path, teachers and guides, origin, the whole... Narratives of restlessness and questions that had already begun to surface in my previous oil paintings, but that couldn't find their natural channel due to my lack of affinity with the material. With these freer and more spontaneous techniques, those images finally found their flow. The line gradually appeared: first as a boundary defining the forms, and then gaining expression and fluidity. In some later works, the intervention and intention in the use of color became more pronounced, engaging more directly with reality.
