Gravitational field

By

Luján Baudino, art historian

Gravity is a field that can be cited without any traces of ego, like with Silvina Faga’s artwork (Buenos Aires 1975). Her artworks aim to be presentations of vital energies. She intentionally works to minimize mediation, valuing the transformation of time and of natural rhythms. Her artistic development that spans over 25 years, is part of her spiritual practice. Her integration of art and life leads her to a self -awareness as an integral work in which all aspects are part of an internal harmony expressed outward.

Her journey connected her to ancestral cultures due to the purity of thought surrounding nature. From starting in traditional painting to later expanding to pre columbian art, and finally in the eastern arts (such as Zenga and Shodo) through great and respected masters including Ho Getsu Sensei, among others. Meditation as way to connect with a higher state of being becomes her primary integrative element throughout her artistic life.

Among her recent productions, we find Ikebana arrangements and pieces of Raku - traditional Japanese pottery -where she strives to emulate natural forces. Her work is exquisitely sophisticated, so much so that it amplifies the value her art as a medium to humanize our existence while expanding the frontiers of artistic practice but above all else to be in harmony with the universe.
